In the fall of 2022, a legacy fund in the name of Maxine Miller was established in support of students at the University of Arkansas.
There isn’t any better way to honor the legacy and name of a woman who was a mother, leader, boss, and support system to so many in her 56 years in business. As Maxine’s continues on, hundreds of stories continue to be shared about the legend herself. We feel incredibly honored to continue the tradition of hosting celebrations, music shows, parties, and gatherings that have filled this building since 1950.
This fund will support students in various ways, such as scholarships, conference travel, and research support, remembering the way Maxine lived her life as a groundbreaking leader, singular force, and pillar in our community.
To help us reach our goals of endowment so that we can indefinitely provide scholarship and financial aid to students in our community, you can donate in many ways. No gift is too small or large.
WAYS TO GIVE:
Credit Card: Please call 479-575-3712
Check: Please make payable to The University of Arkansas Foundation, Inc., and write Maxine Miller on the memo line. Please mail to: Office of Development, 1 University of Arkansas, 525 Old Main, Fayetteville, AR 72701
We’ve always believed that Maxine’s is much more than a bar, and much more than just a small business. It is a cornerstone of our community that has seen so many evolutions of Fayetteville, and has served as a place to celebrate, cry, dance, do business, gather, and build relationships. We want you to know how much we appreciate you supporting this space, our staff (and all the staff over the years), and all small businesses and educational and creative endeavors in our town.
